Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead in Bridgman, MI to ensure technical solutions meet project requirements, drive design teams, and act as the internal expert on customer needs. You will validate third-party equipment, mitigate risks, and support local and remote facilities through collaboration and design oversight.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-disciplinary project engineering in a production environment.
• Proven ability to balance and document a high volume of constraints and interdependencies in system level design.
• Proven track record in hitting key project milestones.
• Direct design experience of automated production equipment to understand real-world challenges and risks.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and NX; MS Office and engineering calculation software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure technical solutions align with committed functional requirements across division projects.
• Own and develop project technical requirements, guiding design teams to resolve gaps.
• Act as internal expert on customer processes and products to inform design decisions.
• Select and validate third-party equipment to meet scope and specs.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead and participate in design reviews to ensure alignment with timeline, budget and quality.
