Job summary
Employbridge is seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to support and enhance automation systems in slitting, blanking, and coil processing operations. The role focuses on designing, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial control systems while partnering with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams.
You will program PLCs, develop HMIs, diagnose issues, and support upgrades and new equipment.
Qualifications
- Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with automation systems and industrial networking.
- Knowledge of servo drives, VFDs, and motion control.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
Responsibilities
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems.
- Develop and support HMI applications.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues.
- Support equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations to improve uptime.
- Maintain machine safety systems and support compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement projects for efficiency and reliability.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance and production personnel.
