Job summary

AG Growth International, Inc. seeks a hands-on Controls Engineer – Plant & Equipment in Marshall, IL to design, develop, and optimize electrical control systems across our manufacturing operations.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and suppliers to improve reliability, safety, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate has PLC experience, strong electrical controls knowledge, and the ability to translate manufacturing needs into practical automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of controls, automation, electrical or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, sensors, motor controls, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and maintain industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment and plant systems.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, motion control, and other automation systems.
• Develop and maintain electrical control logic, control panels, instrumentation, and documentation.
• Support integration of new equipment, machinery, robotics, and automated production systems.
• Evaluate existing equipment controls and identify opportunities to improve reliability, safety, throughput, and efficiency.
• Develop and implement automated solutions to reduce manual processes and downtime.
• Provide controls engineering support for capital projects, upgrades, and plant expansions.
