Job summary

Jobot in the Chicago area seeks a dynamic Controls Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automation and control systems in our Addison, IL manufacturing environment. You will improve production through robust control strategies and data-driven SCADA enhancements.

You will collaborate with maintenance and operations to drive safety, quality, and cost efficiency while advancing standardization and training across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
• Proficient in PLC programming, SCADA, Control Systems Design, Automation, and Industrial Control.
• Experience with Systems Integration and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven track record in managing projects and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and schematics.
• Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
• Willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest technological developments in the field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems to improve production processes in terms of safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage and optimize the use of SCADA systems for data collection, analysis, and process control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new systems and procedures.
• Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve control system issues in PLCs.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and system performance layouts.
• Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
• Ensure all control systems and procedures comply with safety and regulatory standards.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in industrial control technologies and systems integration.
