Job summary

ProMach is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, implement, and support automated control systems for manufacturing and packaging applications.

You will develop control system designs, schematics, BOMs, and software for PLCs, HMIs, and motion control, collaborating with cross-functional teams and traveling up to 20% to customer sites.

Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential to deliver robust performance while complying with applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical preferred).
• 5+ years of Controls Engineering experience.
• Strong PLC programming skills (Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Keyence, Panasonic, others).
• Proficient in RsLogix/Studio5000, AutoCAD, FactoryTalk View.
• Proficient in Ladder Logic & Structured Text.
• Experience with Vision Systems (e.g. Cognex) a plus.
• Strong Mechanical Aptitude and knowledge of NEC/UL/ISO standards.
• Familiarity with Modbus RTU, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP and related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, programming, implementation and support of automated control systems.
• Develop and maintain control system designs, schematics, and BOMs.
• Code, test, and debug PLC, HMI, and motion control programs.
• Provide technical support for FATs, on-site installations, and after-sales support.
• Collaborate with panel shop for assembly, wiring, and compliance to standards.
• Handle component selection, vendor quotations, and documentation.
• Write validation and design specification documentation as required.
• Travel up to 20% to customer sites.
• Participate in cross-functional teams for continuous improvement.
