Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI is seeking an Engineering Specialist, Controls to lead problem solving across plants, support tooling and automation, and drive efficiency improvements. You will read electrical prints, modify schematics, manage automation installations, and train personnel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED
• 2 or more years of Controls Engineering experience
• Ability to work off-shift, weekends, and overtime

Responsibilities

• Lead problem solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving tooling, equipment and conveyor performance issues and downtime
• Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated
• Handle setup and maintenance of industrial bar code printers
• Utilize knowledge to design and implement vision control systems and evaluate equipment for quality and delivery
• Use plant monitoring software to review cycle times and follow up on project installations
• Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements
• Update program backups for machinery and automation
• Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
• Review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safety
• Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians
• Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, AutoCAD
