Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Louisville, KY, is seeking an experienced engineer to oversee maintenance and engineering operations, optimizing assembly processes with skilled trades. You will drive automation, robotics, and controls changes while collaborating with ME/PE and planning for weekends and shutdowns.

The role requires technical manufacturing experience, a high school diploma (or GED) and potentially a bachelor’s in Electrical/Automation/Controls/Robotics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical work experience in manufacturing or OEM tooling preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Automation/Controls/Robotics is a plus.
• Technical certification in Robot/Automation/Controls is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production controls systems and associated systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis of downtime issues to prevent recurrence (4D process).
• Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies; participate in Constraint Review Process.
• Lead oversight of controls and automation, including supervision of electrical trades and technicians.
• Manage robot/automation changes including programming and logic changes.
• Collaborate with ME/PE to launch new programs or equipment and optimize automation and controls.
• Provide input to MPS for weekend and shutdown maintenance planning.
• Work on any shift, including rotating shifts and weekends.
• Collaborate with Skilled Trades to pursue new technologies.
