Job summary

Trex Company is seeking a Plant Controls Engineer to design and support PLC controls and instrumentation across production lines. The role involves collaborating with process engineers, maintaining documentation, and supporting capital projects.

It emphasizes safety, hands-on troubleshooting, and hands-on involvement with electrical installations. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in electrical engineering or related field with 2–4 years of controls design or an associate degree with 5+ years’

Qualifications

Functional knowledge of PLC and HMI programming and electrical panel design.
Experience troubleshooting equipment.
Plastics processing experience (preferred).
ACAD 2D design software is a plus.
PLC and SCADA programming experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

Maintains documentation for electrical panels and PLC controls (diagrams, manuals, installation disks).
Supports capital engineering projects for new equipment (panel design, vendor coordination, PLC/HMI programming).
Assists maintenance with troubleshooting of controls issues and provides off-hours support.
