Design Group is seeking a Controls Engineer II to join our dynamic team in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You will contribute to automation projects from design through commissioning, partnering with clients and internal teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.

The role requires hands‑on experience with PLC/SCADA programming, control panel design, and strong communication skills to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years as controls engineer in manufacturing environments.
• Experience designing automation controls systems (PLC/SCADA).
• Knowledge of electrical control panel design and fabrication (UL508A).
• Strong written and verbal communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation solutions across design, software configuration, testing, commissioning and start-up of automated manufacturing processes.
• Design automation control systems and create project documentation and drawings to meet client requirements.
• Diagnose automation problems and interface with teams, clients and vendors.
• Configure software and hardware packages according to client design specifications.
• Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADAs (FactoryTalk, Ignition).
• Manage engineering projects and deliverables to schedule and scope.
• Support site construction and start-up of integrated control systems.
