Job summary

JR Automation, A Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Controls Engineer I for our onsite Greenville, SC facility. You will design and implement controls for automated equipment, troubleshoot robots, and participate in power-up and programming tasks with state-of-the-art robotics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an Associate’s with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, Robotics, Mechatronics, Motion Control, Vision Systems, and/or Programming.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks).
• Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry, is strongly preferred.
• Ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings.
• Willingness to travel up to 35%–50% to customer sites and other JR locations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and document controls systems for various types of automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical control devices, mechanical units, transfer devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Perform machine power-up, debug, and programming. Ensure equipment is designed and programmed to specifications using standard techniques and approaches.
