Talon Hiring Solutions is seeking a talented Controls Engineer for a client in the Greater Birmingham, AL area. You will design, program, integrate, and troubleshoot automated and robotic systems from concept through commissioning.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial controls, PLC programming, and electromechanical systems, and can collaborate with engineering teams and customers to deliver high-quality automation solutions.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of controls programming experience or related industrial controls experience.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, robots, or other industrial automation systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and prints.
• Experience with major PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Omron, Siemens, GE).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and troubleshoot automated electromechanical control systems for automation equipment.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, robots, and vision systems.
• Collaborate with sales, project management, and engineering teams to meet customer requirements.
• Work with customers to understand needs, resolve issues, and provide high-quality support.
• Support panel fabrication, wiring, integration, and on-site commissioning.
