Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Global Workplace Solutions team, focusing on control systems and automated material handling equipment. You will support conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, SCADA devices, and related automation while improving reliability and performance.

The role involves collaboration with site teams and leadership to meet project timelines and production goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
2+ years of experience with PLC programs.
2+ years of experience with robotics system components and controls.
2+ years of experience with SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

Promote a safe working environment by complying with applicable codes and regulations.
Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
Serve as first level escalation in troubleshooting support on-site and remotely.
Inspect systems to ensure operation within design capabilities and client specs.
Oversee development scope, scheduling, and inspection of work by outside contractors.
Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to network implementation.
Monitor industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
Communicate with stakeholders on technical issues, timelines, and production impacts.
Support analysis of failures to implement improvements or retraining.
