Job summary

Hoxton Circle in Houston seeks a seasoned Controller to own the accounting function end to end for a multi‑entity portfolio across US GAAP and IFRS, and to modernize it with AI-driven close, automation, and stronger internal controls.

You will lead a five‑person team, manage consolidations, intercompany activity, and external audits, while delivering accurate reporting and robust governance across currencies and jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Active CPA required.
• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership.
• Upstream oil and gas experience, ideally non‑operated.
• Ownership of close, controls and external audits.
• Quorum ODA preferred; other tools considered.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling.
• Hands-on AI/automation in finance.
• Big 4 energy audit background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the close, GL, consolidations, and reconciliations across a multi-entity structure.
• Prepare US GAAP and IFRS financial statements and manage external audits.
• Oversee internal controls, treasury and disbursement controls.
• Provide technical oversight of upstream oil & gas revenue and JV accounting.
• Lead currency accounting, intercompany, and statutory reporting support.
• Mentor a five-member accounting team.
