Job summary

The Edge Group is seeking a Controller to lead all accounting, budgeting, and forecasting activities for its Texas-based operation. This role oversees day-to-day accounting and partners with senior leadership to provide accurate financial reporting and forward-looking analysis.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in accounting within transportation or asset-heavy environments and can build scalable financial processes as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years progressive accounting experience in transportation or logistics.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting systems and ERP.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations: GL, close, payables, receivables, payroll, fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual statements per GAAP.
• Build departmental and divisional P&Ls.
• Oversee fleet asset accounting, depreciation, and fuel costs.
• Maintain internal controls and policies; collaborate with CPAs.
• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, cash flow, and scenario analyses.
• Provide insights on margins, utilization, and costs; advise leadership.
