Job summary

Conexus is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations for its private equity-backed home services business in Woodinville, WA. The role will manage 18 locations across six states, drive consolidation, and own close processes.

You will partner with the CFO and PE sponsor on M&A integration, process improvements, and reporting enhancements, with a hands-on, leadership-focused approach in a growing organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with Controller-level responsibilities.
• Experience in a mid-market, private equity-backed organization is preferred.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and financial reporting discipline.
• Experience managing multi-entity accounting and month-end/year-end closes.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams in a lean, hands-on environment.
• Experience with M&A accounting, due diligence support, and integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, close processes, AP/AR, and reconciliations.
• Oversee multi-entity reporting across 18 locations and consolidate financial statements.
• Prepare and review financial statements ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP compliance.
• Drive M&A activities, including acquisition accounting and integration efforts.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variances, and financial reporting for decision making.
• Oversee job costing, WIP, and profitability analysis across locations.
• Develop accounting policies, internal controls, and standard procedures.
• Coordinate audits and multi-state tax compliance with external advisors.
• Manage banking relationships, treasury, debt covenants, and credit lines.
• Mentor and develop a small accounting team; foster collaboration and growth.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement automation/AI tools.
• Partner with CFO and PE sponsor to support performance and expansion.
