Job summary

Conexus seeks a Corporate Controller to lead its accounting function for a private-equity-backed, multi-entity organization. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage an accounting team and oversee multi-entity consolidations and the close process to deliver timely financials.

The ideal candidate has progressive accounting leadership, consolidations experience, and a public accounting background with CPA licensing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting leadership experience at Controller or Assistant Controller level.
• Multi-entity consolidation experience is required.
• Manufacturing industry experience is required.
• Public Accounting upbringing and CPA license are highly desirable.
• Private Equity backed company experience is highly desirable.
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

• Lead all corporate accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close and the delivery of accurate, timely financial statements.
• Manage and optimize core accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and Fixed Assets.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry reviews, and monthly variance/flux analyses to uncover business trends and insights.
• Oversee multi-entity consolidation and lead initiatives to simplify the legal entity and reporting structure.
• Prepare and present financial results to executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and private equity sponsors, translating the numbers into clear business insights.
• Support lender reporting, covenant compliance, and other sponsor and investor reporting requirements.
• Lead the accounting integration of newly acquired businesses, including purchase accounting, opening balance sheets, and alignment of policies and processes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring a clean and efficient audit.
• Establish and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures that can scale with the business.
• Oversee payroll accounting and drive consolidation and standardization of payroll processes across entities.
• Evaluate and implement system and close-process improvements to shorten the close cycle and improve reporting accuracy.
• Build, mentor, and develop a team of accounting leaders.
