Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is hiring a Controller for our Non-Profit Services (CAAS) practice. Roles are available in multiple Midwest locations, including Ohio.

You will act as Controller for designated clients and advise on accounting best practices while managing projects and deadlines. Required are eight years of accounting/financial experience and a bachelor’s degree; nonprofit experience is highly preferred and CPA is optional.

Qualifications

• Eight years of accounting/financial experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; combination of experience and training may be accepted.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Nonprofit experience preferred.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• Prior project and client management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Advise clients on best practices for accounting and finance-related engagements.
• Provide project management by handling multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Foster opportunities and attend industry events and trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of client policies, federal/state directives, and accounting standards.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives and actions.
