Trust & Will is a remote-first estate planning platform seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations, internal controls, and system optimization across the company and its subsidiaries. You will drive closing, audits, and cost analysis in a fast-growing environment.

The role requires 10+ years in accounting, 4–5 years in a leadership position, and experience with AI-enabled processes. Eligible states include CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, MD, NJ, NY, NC, PA, TX, VT, NV, UT.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience, with 4–5 years in a Controller or similar leadership role in a high-growth environment.
• CPA certification preferred and experience with financial controls.
• Hands-on experience applying AI or automation to accounting workflows (LLMs, scripting, automation).
• Experience designing internal controls for automated/AI-assisted processes.

Responsabilités

• Own accounting operations for Trust & Will and its subsidiaries, including month-end close, tax compliance, AP/AR, and data accuracy.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to scale operations and protect assets.
• Lead audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Manage and optimize the accounting tech stack; collaborate with FP&A for integrated systems.
• Partner with CFO on cost analysis and strategic planning with FP&A.
• Oversee vendor relationships and ensure compliance with policies.
