Job summary

Trust & Will, a leader in digital estate planning, is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations and internal controls during a growth phase. You will lead the accounting team, manage month-end close, tax compliance, and collaborate with FP&A to optimize costs and reporting.

The role emphasizes AI-native process improvements, scalable systems, and clear communication with non-finance stakeholders. CPA preferred; remote-first with state eligibility including GA, CA, CO, and others.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience with 4–5 years in a Controller or leadership role in high-growth settings.
• CPA certification preferred and experience in financial reporting and controls.
• Hands-on use of AI/automation to improve accounting workflows and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting for Trust & Will and subsidiaries; oversee month-end close and tax compliance.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to scale operations and safeguard assets.
• Lead audits and reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Manage accounting tech stack; collaborate with FP&A to ensure integrated, efficient systems.
• Assist CFO on financial strategy, cost analyses, and vendor management.
