Job summary

Trust & Will, a remote-first digital estate planning platform, seeks a seasoned Controller to steer accounting and internal controls across the company and its subsidiaries. You will lead the close cycle, tax compliance, and the accounts payable/receivable processes while enabling scalable growth.

You will drive AI-enabled workflows, optimize the finance stack, and collaborate with FP&A to analyze costs and inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience; 4–5 years in a Controller or senior leadership role in a high-growth environment.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
• Hands-on experience applying AI/automation to accounting workflows.
• Experience designing internal controls for automated/AI-assisted processes.
• Proficiency in Ramp, Rillet, Google Sheets and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting at Trust & Will and subsidiaries; manage month-end close, tax compliance, and AP/AR.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to enable scaling.
• Lead audits and reconciliations with accuracy.
• Manage accounting tech stack and integrate with FP&A.
• Partner with CFO and FP&A to analyze costs and drive financial strategy.
• Oversee vendor relationships and policy compliance.
