Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a senior finance professional to lead accounting and financial planning for a manufacturing operation. You will partner with local leadership on strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and key business decisions.

The role oversees month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, costing, inventory analysis, and collaboration with auditors and external partners.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years progressive finance/accounting experience; manufacturing preferred.
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA designation is an asset.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing accounting.
  • Experience with external audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting systems; QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Hands-on, organized, and able to work with senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate tax filings, government reporting, payroll-related requirements, and external audits.
  • Support inventory counts, costing, and other manufacturing finance activities.
  • Maintain key financial, contractual, insurance, lease, and corporate records.
  • Improve accounting systems, reporting processes, controls, and management information.
  • Work closely with Group Finance, auditors, banks, legal advisors, and other external partners.
  • Supervise and develop accounting/payroll staff as required.

  • Practical knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing accounting.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Experience with accounting systems; QuickBooks experience is an asset.
  • Experience with external audits, internal controls, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Hands-on, organized, and comfortable working directly with senior management.
