Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to supervise core accounting operations and partner with the Controller in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leader will manage month-end close, treasury oversight, financial reporting, and team development while driving scalable processes across the organization.

The role emphasizes technical accounting, cross-functional collaboration with operations, and opportunities to improve systems and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Public accounting and industry experience preferred.
• Leadership or people-management experience preferred.
• CPA or CMA is a plus, but not required.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial/accounting systems; Dynamics 365, OneStream and Power BI are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger, inventory, fixed assets, capital expenditures, and treasury activities, including credit and collections.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and internal controls in accordance with GAAP.
• Partner with operations and leadership to address accounting issues and provide financial insight.
• Support forecasting, financial analysis, and cost improvement initiatives.
• Assist with internal and external audits and ensure required compliance standards are met.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and month-end efficiency, including the use of technology and automation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Adapt effectively to a fast-changing, growth-oriented environment and help build scalable accounting processes.
