Job Title: Controller
Compensation: $155,000 - $175,000 Base Salary + Bonus
About the Company:
Our client, a private equity-backed portfolio company, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the company’s accounting and financial operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency while contributing to the company’s growth and strategic initiatives.
Position Overview:
The Controller will manage all accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and private equity standards. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in accounting, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and private equity requirements.
- Accounting Operations: Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate and lead external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Collaborate with the FP&A team to support budgeting and forecasting processes, providing key accounting insights.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Private Equity Collaboration: Work closely with private equity stakeholders, providing reports and updates on financial performance and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth companies strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proven ability to manage audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and private equity partners.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing accounting teams in a hybrid work environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive base salary of $155,000 - $175,000, plus bonus.
