Job summary

LHH is partnering with a rapidly growing technology company to hire a Controller who will lead the accounting and finance function and partner with executive leadership. This role offers high visibility, the chance to build scalable processes, and significant impact across the organization.

Responsibilities include owning the close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, while driving automation and technology adoption across finance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
  • Progressive accounting leadership experience with strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience owning month-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis experience
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with ERP and accounting systems (including QuickBooks)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Excellent communication skills with executive leadership
  • Interest in technology, automation, and AI-driven process improvements
  • CPA designation or progress toward certification
  • Startup or high-growth company experience
  • Experience with inventory, equipment, manufacturing, or hardware-related accounting
  • Experience implementing systems, controls, and scalable finance processes
  • Familiarity with spend management tools and modern finance technology platforms

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, month-end close, revenue recognition, and financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership and board reporting
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and employee expense reimbursements
  • Oversee tax registrations, filings, compliance, and coordination with external tax providers
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning
  • Support board and investor reporting including operating metrics and profitability analysis
  • Manage treasury activities, cash flow forecasting, and banking relationships
  • Respond to audit, investor, and due diligence requests
  • Design, implement, and strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial processes
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, automation, and system enhancements
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and technology to improve finance and accounting efficiency
  • Partner cross-functionally to support business growth and operational decision-making
