The ideal candidate has 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership, healthcare background, and strong ERP and automation experience to scale operations during growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Oversee general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
  • Strengthen accounting controls, processes, and reporting.
  • Direct accounts receivable operations and cash flow monitoring.
  • Supervise accounting staff and mentor senior professionals.
  • Ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting and audits.
  • Support acquisition integrations and consolidation of operations.
  • Partner with leadership on strategic financial initiatives.
  • Lead ERP implementation and system optimization projects.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and partners.
  • Assist budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and scalability.

Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000+ Depending on Experience

Position Overview

A growing healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting function during an exciting period of expansion and organizational growth. This position will play a critical leadership role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting acquisition integration efforts, enhancing financial processes, and partnering with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong healthcare accounting background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. This role offers significant visibility and long-term growth potential within a rapidly expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Oversee all general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Manage and enhance accounting controls, processes, and reporting procedures.
  • Direct accounts receivable operations and monitor cash flow performance.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including senior-level accounting professionals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support acquisition integration activities and assist with the consolidation of financial operations.
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic financial initiatives and operational decision-making.
  • Lead ERP implementation, conversion, and system optimization projects.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and scalability as the organization continues to grow.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
  • Prior healthcare industry experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading month‑end close and accounting operations.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare accounts receivable processes is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or post‑acquisition integrations.
  • ERP implementation, conversion, or migration experience preferred.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar accounting systems.
  • Proven ability to improve processes and build scalable accounting functions.
