Orionplacement is seeking a hands-on Controller to own monthly, quarterly, and annual close for affiliated companies and client businesses, with authority over accounting quality and financial controls. Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller or senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience with financial reporting and close.
• Experience leading multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and consolidations.
• Proven ability to develop staff and implement stronger controls and processes.
• Client-facing accounting experience with the ability to communicate with owners and executives.
• CPA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial reporting for affiliated companies and client businesses.
• Lead multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, allocations, consolidations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Deliver accurate financial statements and supporting documentation for tax and advisory use.
• Analyze financial performance, budget variances, and client profitability; explain results to business owners.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, billing, and collections.
• Develop accounting staff, review their work, and establish close, documentation, and quality standards.
• Improve accounting policies and internal controls; manage client engagement deadlines and profitability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership role.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and hands‑on experience with financial reporting, profitability analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, and close.
• Multi‑entity accounting experience covering intercompany transactions, allocations, pass‑through entities, owner equity, and consolidations.
• Experience improving accounting processes and controls, overseeing accounting operations, and managing or developing staff.
• Client‑facing accounting experience with the ability to communicate directly with business owners and executives.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent demonstrated technical knowledge.
• CPA, outsourced or fractional accounting, and professional services experience preferred.
