Job summary

Ledgent-Finance- is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the U.S. accounting function and partner with executive leadership. This newly created role offers the chance to build processes, improve reporting, and drive operational improvements.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of Controller-level experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and CPA preferred. Cross-border/partnership accounting and excellent business insight will help translate financial data into strategic advice for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with Controller-level responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
• Experience with partnership accounting structures and requirements.
• Strong understanding of U.S. tax laws, planning strategies, and tax-saving opportunities.
• Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Proven ability to lead accounting functions within a growing organization.
• Advanced Excel and accounting systems experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex accounting concepts for executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead all U.S. accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial guidance and support key business decisions.
• Manage partnership accounting activities and ensure compliance with applicable accounting requirements.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and coordinate with external tax advisors to optimize tax strategies.
• Develop and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
• Support financial system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Mentor and support accounting team members while helping build scalable infrastructure for future growth.
