Trueline's client, a stable and growing privately held business backed by a well-established global organization, is seeking a Controller to join its team in Cedar Park, Texas. This is a hands-on accounting leadership opportunity for someone who can own the integrity of the books, lead close and reporting, strengthen accounting processes, and serve as a trusted financial partner to leadership. It offers genuine Controller-level ownership with an unusually attractive 8-5 schedule, strong stability, and room to make an impact without the constant fire drills common in many senior accounting roles.
What You'll Do as the Controller:
- Own the month-end close process from start to finish, ensuring accurate and timely financial results
- Lead the day-to-day accounting function and serve as the organization's senior accounting resource
- Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Review the accounting behind transactions and ensure activity is recorded appropriately, not simply processed consistently
- Manage and support team members responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain strong accounting controls and identify areas where controls, documentation, or processes should be strengthened
- Partner with leadership to explain financial results, unusual activity, trends, risks, and accounting implications
- Provide oversight around inventory and product-related accounting, with the opportunity to bring deeper expertise in landed cost or inventory management
- Evaluate accounting workflows and implement practical improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Work closely with outside resources and the broader organization as needed on accounting, reporting, and special projects
- Take ownership of new accounting and business initiatives as the organization continues to evolve

- Demonstrated ownership of month-end close and financial reporting
- Strong command of general ledger accounting, debits and credits, accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement relationships
- Ability to understand the accounting substance behind transactions rather than relying solely on established processes
- Experience reviewing accounting work and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the books
- Experience leading, managing, or developing accounting team members
- Strong judgment and the ability to move comfortably between detailed accounting work and the larger financial picture
- Ability to work independently, identify issues, and determine the appropriate accounting treatment
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to partner directly with company leadership
- Comfortable working primarily onsite in Cedar Park
