Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or 10 years of equivalent control systems project engineering experience is preferred.
8+ years of progressive experience in industrial automation, control systems engineering, or OT within a continuous-process manufacturing environment is required.
3+ years of direct people management or formal team leadership experience is preferred.
5+ years of demonstrated track record managing automation capital projects (CapEx) from design through commissioning is preferred.
5+ years of strong background in process optimization, APC, multivariable optimization, or digital transformation/AI systems integration is preferred.
5+ years of experience with air separation units, including compressors, turbomachinery and distillation columns is preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct a multidisciplinary automation team with technical direction across plant controls and OT.
Establish and enforce standards for PLC/SCADA programming, code management, and engineering documentation.
Manage department budgets, KPIs, and coordination with system integrators.
Support 24/7 operations and lead root-cause investigations of control system issues.
Govern OT infrastructure with high availability, data historization, and cybersecurity.
Oversee CapEx projects from architecture to commissioning to deliver upgrades on time and within scope.
Oversee upgrades of maintenance programs and change management systems.
Drive energy efficiency and APC deployment, exploring AI and digital transformation opportunities.
Enforce strict MOC protocols for control system modifications and pre-commissioning safety.
Maintain validated state of plant control systems in line with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with operations, safety, quality, and engineering to align automation with business goals.
Assist with corporate cybersecurity initiatives and OT protocols with global partners.
Coordinate backups and funding for operational licenses.
