Job summary

Entegris, Inc. is seeking a Control Systems Engineer II to join the GMC team in San Luis Obispo. The role focuses on designing, implementing, validating, and supporting automated control systems for high-purity gas purification equipment and related processes.

You will develop secure, data-ready automation solutions, work with cross-functional teams, and apply AI-enabled tools for diagnostics and predictive maintenance, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in controls/engineering or related technical field.
• 2-4 years in controls, automation, or process-control in a process industry.
• Experience designing, programming, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting PLC/HMI systems.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, control loops, interlocks, alarms, and networks.
• Ability to write control narratives, specs, I/O lists, P&IDs, drawings.
• Experience with structured software development, version control, releases.
• Strong written and verbal communication across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, test, and implement PLC/HMI control systems.
• Translate process requirements into robust control strategies.
• Specify and integrate controllers, networks, sensors, and drives.
• Develop data-ready architectures for diagnostics and analytics.
• Create alarm management, health indicators, and logs.
• Validate through tests, FAT/SAT, and commissioning procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement using data and problem-solving.
