Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Facilities and Utilities Operations professional to oversee plant facilities from a centralized center, ensuring CGMP compliance and robust utility systems performance. The role emphasizes alarm management, anomaly investigation, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams.

You will support installation, commissioning, qualification, and training for Site Support systems, while maintaining safety and regulatory adherence across all utility processes.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree in a technical field, or equivalent industrial, military, or vocational training required.
Minimum of five (5) years facilities/utilities experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years in facilities, utilities, or manufacturing automated systems control & operations required.
Knowledge & experience in cGMP utilities and working in regulated environments (FDA, cGMP, OSHA) preferred.
Proficiency in utility systems: chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, vacuum, wastewater, HVAC, water purification, nitrogen storage/distribution & clean steam.
Ability to read CAD drawings with basic P&ID, PFD, HVAC, electrical systems & equipment schematics preferred.
Understanding of URS, SAT, FAT, commissioning & validation protocols preferred.
Understanding of SOPs with attention to high-level concepts preferred.
Computer literacy with associated systems preferred.
Ability to prioritize equipment & system issues based on risk, production impact, and operational need preferred.
Strong communication skills across organizational levels preferred.
Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift and meet physical requirements.
May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license and operate a motorized vehicle.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor plant facilities from a centralized control center.
Prioritize, communicate, and follow up on alarms and abnormal trends.
Provide technical support for site and automation project execution.
Review, investigate, and document anomalies for root causes.
Establish and maintain standards and procedures for control room and automation systems.
Support installation, commissioning, qualification, and training activities for Site Support systems and controls.
Support operation, maintenance, and response for control systems including BMS, PCS, and Life Safety.
Assist maintenance with shutdowns, start-ups, LOTO, and EHS permitting.
Adhere to quality, environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous process improvement using lean concepts.
Participate in systematic problem-solving efforts.
Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external engineering teams and stakeholders.
Report to the Manager, Operations - Utilities & RMS.
Perform other assigned accountabilities.

Operate and monitor multiple plant facilities and site support systems from a centralized control center for the DAPI-US facility
Prioritize, communicate, and follow up on system alarm and warning conditions and abnormal trends
Provide technical support for site and automation project execution
Review, investigate, and document system or operational anomalies for cause and clearance
Establish and maintain standards and operational procedures for control room and automation systems
Support installation, commissioning, qualification, and training activities for Site Support systems and controls
Support consistent operation, maintenance, and response for control systems including BMS, PCS, and Life Safety
Support engineers and facilities maintenance personnel with plant operations, troubleshooting, and optimization
Assist maintenance with equipment and systems shutdown, start-up, LOTO, and EHS permitting
Adhere to quality, environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements
Drive continuous process improvement using cLEAN® concepts
Participate in systematic problem-solving efforts
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external engineering teams and stakeholders
Report to the Manager, Operations - Utilities & RMS

Requirements

Associate's Degree in a technical field, or an equivalent industrial, military, or vocational training combined with experience required
Minimum of five (5) years facilities/utilities experience in a manufacturing facility preferred
Minimum of two (2) years in facilities, utilities, or manufacturing automated systems control & operations required
Knowledge & experience in the operations, maintenance & design of cGMP utilities as well as working in a regulated environment (FDA, cGMP, OSHA) preferred
Proficiency in most of the following utility systems: chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, vacuum, wastewater, HVAC, water purification, nitrogen storage/distribution & clean steam required
Prior qualification/work experience required in operating plant or facilities via control systems required
Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with a basic understanding of P&ID, PFD, HVAC, electrical systems & equipment schematics preferred
Understanding of technical documents such as URS, SAT, FAT, commissioning & validation protocols preferred
Understanding of complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to high-level concepts preferred
Computer literacy with associated systems preferred
Ability to prioritize equipment & system issues based on environmental or safety risk, production impact, & operational need preferred
Strong communication skills across multiple organizational levels preferred
