Lupin Pharmaceuticals in New York state seeks a Facilities Engineering Technician to operate, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical facility utility systems that support manufacturing, labs, offices, and buildings.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on utilities, support minor building repairs, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and site stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable utility performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school certification or Associate's degree in Facilities Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, HVAC, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of facilities maintenance, utility operations, or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; certifications preferred.
  • Ability to read manuals, drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Basic computer skills and CMMS familiarity.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, healthcare, or similar environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance of Facility buildings and critical systems, including Building Management system, HVAC, Chillers, dust collection, compressed air, nitrogen, vacuum, and purified water systems.
  • Perform routine inspections, equipment rounds, and system performance checks.
  • Respond to alarms, system abnormalities, and utility outages.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and utility equipment.
  • Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Maintain maintenance records and CMMS work orders.
  • Support utility shutdowns, startups, commissioning, and planned maintenance events.
  • Assist with contractor oversight and coordination of utility-related services.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Perform minor building repairs, patching, painting, and carpentry.

Job description

The Facilities Engineering Technician is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical facility utility systems that support manufacturing, laboratory, office, and building operations. This position performs preventative and corrective maintenance on critical utilities while also supporting general facility upkeep, including minor building repairs, patching, painting, and basic carpentry tasks. The technician works closely with Facilities Engineers, contractors, and site stakeholders to ensure reliable utility performance, regulatory compliance, and a safe working environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance of Facility buildings and critical systems, including but not limited to;
  • Building Management system
  • HVAC, Chillers and dust collection systems
  • Compressed air systems
  • Nitrogen system
  • Vacuum System
  • Purified water systems
  • Perform routine inspections, equipment rounds, and system performance checks.
  • Respond to alarms, system abnormalities, and utility outages.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and utility equipment.
  • Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders using the site's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Support utility shutdowns, startups, commissioning activities, and planned maintenance events.
  • Assist with contractor oversight and coordination of utility-related services.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Perform minor building repairs and facility upkeep activities.
  • Conduct wall patching, painting, touch-up work, and surface repairs.
  • Participate in safety inspections and hazard identification activities.
  • Support emergency response activities and after-hours call-in requirements when necessary. environmental controls required for DPI or MDI manufacturing.
  • Ensures adherence to SOPs, batch records, and regulatory requirements throughout the production process.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school certification, vocational training, or Associate's degree in Facilities Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, HVAC, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of facilities maintenance, utility operations, or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Certifications in these or any of these areas is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS systems.
  • Experience supporting critical utility systems in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, healthcare, laboratory, or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and facility monitoring systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and root cause troubleshooting
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, and access utility spaces.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations as needed
