Job summary

Vistra Energy is seeking a Plant Operator to manage overall plant operations from the Control Room, including start-ups/shuts, alarms, and equipment issues. You will coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation of gas plant systems, supporting commercial commitments.

The role requires troubleshooting expertise, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related experience.
• Power plant experience preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures (Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument and Controls).
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Demonstrate standard computer-based skills.
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills.
• Independent knowledge of troubleshooting.
• Ability to work well under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• POSS/MASS pre-employment test required.

Responsibilities

• Assist/perform troubleshooting of plant equipment and preventive/corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning.
• Carry out daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair/replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
• Maintain equipment knowledge across electronic control systems and computers.
• Follow safety and environmental regulations including Lockout Tagout and other procedures.
• Respond to alarms, coordinate maintenance, and support safe operation in line with commercial commitments.
