Job summary

Sprague is hiring a Control Room Operator for the Springfield, NH location. The CRO serves as the shift lead for safe and efficient day-to-day plant operations, monitors process variables, and communicates with on-site personnel.

The position involves a 12‑hour rotating schedule (36/48 hours per week) and requires strong safety and teamwork mindset. Responsibilities include startup/shutdown, event documentation, and coordinating with maintenance and management.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Power plant operations and/or maintenance experience is required.
• Basic computer/data entry skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Good verbal communication skills are essential.
• Must work well without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Start-up, operate, shut down and secure equipment from control room or field under normal and emergency conditions.
• Troubleshoot and assist with preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
• Understand the process components and implement lockout/tagout, de-energization and zero energy verification.
• Maintain logs and records of operating conditions and report irregularities.
• Monitor plant variables and safety/environmental standards; ensure reliable, cost-effective power generation.
• Develop and maintain operating procedures; conduct or assist with outages; supervise or assist contractors when needed.
