Job summary

M.C. Dean, Building Intelligence, is seeking a Control Technician 2 to fabricate control panels, install and commission hardware, troubleshoot field instruments, and document finished work.

You will work from diagrams and work orders, follow NEC/UL508A standards, and support shop operations. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED with 4+ years in a shop environment and electrical experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience
• Pass a background investigation and drug test.
• Knowledge of control circuits, schematics, and drawings.
• Ability to read and prepare a BOM from specifications per NEC/UL508A.
• Ability to size circuit breakers and fuses per NEC standards.
• Ability to fabricate control panels including design, layout, and install components.
• Experience with installation and troubleshooting Building Automation Systems (DDC, Distech, Siemens, Niagara).
• Ability to install, wire, and test wiring of PLCs, VFDs, and other solid-state components.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Follows instructions from work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials and sequence.
• Performs sheet metal work, punching, wiring, painting, and welding.
• Provides on‑the‑job training to new employees.
• Follows company procedures for ordering, storing, receiving, and returning materials and tools.
• Ensures work meets schedule and quality goals.
• Support shop operations and ensure proper tool care.
