Job summary

Coast Electric seeks a System Operator to monitor and control the electric distribution system from the Control Center, ensuring safe, reliable operations. You will respond to outages, coordinate field personnel, and manage SCADA and related technologies.

The role requires rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and a strong commitment to safety. A high school diploma or GED and a Mississippi driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; diploma preferred.
• Valid Mississippi driver's license.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Available for call-back work as needed.
• Strong decision making, multitasking, problem-solving, and verbal communication.
• Efficient interpretation of technical documents, maps, and system data.
• Commitment to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate electrical distribution systems using SCADA and related systems.
• Respond to outages and dispatch appropriate personnel.
• Perform switching procedures, including lockout/tagout and hotline tag protocols.
• Coordinate system operations during maintenance, emergencies, and storm restoration.
• Receive, document, and relay communications regarding outages and service requests.
• Generate, process, and manage work orders and outage tickets.
• Maintain logs, reports, and operational documentation.
• Verify system performance and support outage management, GIS, CIS systems.
• Provide member service support related to service orders and restoration efforts.
