Job summary

Tri-County Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a System Operator to ensure safe, reliable operation of the electric distribution system using OMS, SCADA and related control tools.

The role supports real-time system operations, outage response, and service restoration while coordinating with field personnel and other departments. The position requires rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required). Demonstrates proficiency with computer systems and business software applications.
• Operational Experience: Prior dispatch, system operations, or similar role within electric utility, transmission, or distribution environments is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Cooperative's mission: safe and reliable power delivery to members.
• Coordinates outage response, service restoration, switching activities, and emergency operations.
• Responds to alarms and abnormal operating conditions; communicates and documents actions.
• Maintains 24/7 control room operations through rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
