Job summary

Ozarks Electric Cooperative, headquartered in Fayetteville, AR, seeks a System Operator I to monitor and control transmission and distribution systems in a 24/7 control center. You will coordinate switching, monitor alarms, and work with multiple departments to restore service quickly and safely.

The role requires a high school diploma and completion of the first System Operator Certification module within 12 months; familiarity with SCADA, OMS, and fleet tracking is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; first certification module within 12 months.
• Familiarity with SCADA, OMS and fleet tracking systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to perform shift work.

Responsibilities

• Operate radio, take trouble calls and dispatch as needed.
• Coordinate load requirements for transmission and distribution systems.
• Monitor and log system conditions, alarms, and telemetry.
• Restore service safely during outages and emergencies under supervision.
• Adhere to NERC/OECC policies and prepare management reports.
