Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative seeks a skilled operator to plan, coordinate switching, issue clearances, and monitor the distribution grid. The role involves real-time control, outage restoration, and communication with dispatchers and field crews.

Responsibilities include ensuring system reliability, adhering to procedures, and reporting on operations. Requires an Associate's degree and 5 years of related experience. Texas driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSI SCADA, ADMS and OMS platforms.
• Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical theory.
• Knowledge of electrical switching and tagging principals and requirements.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code and electrical utility operational procedures.
• Knowledge of radio use etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training and leading staff that supports 24/7 real-time control system integrity.
• Serve as switching authority as assigned by Distribution Operations Center Manager.
• Provide efficient direction of restoration activities during assigned shift.
• Monitor and control the cooperative grid and initiate restoration of service during assigned shift.
• Coordinate and perform switching as required for authorized personnel.
• Utilize SCADA, ADMS software and OMS to monitor the distribution grid.
• Maintain outage, substation and system records for other departments.
