Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking a Contracts Specialist I or Sr. Contracts Specialist within the Procurement & Property Management Division. The role reports to the Subcontracts Manager and supports internal customers with best-value acquisitions, while complying with FAR and DOE/DEAR guidelines.

A strong background in procurement, ethics, and cost management is essential. The position may involve remote work for local or non-local candidates with occasional travel to the Lab.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in a business field.
• 7+ years of direct procurement experience.
• Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
• Advanced understanding of procurement processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• MS Office knowledge (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

Responsabilités

• Work under limited supervision within established procedures and guidelines.
• Provide procurement expertise and leadership to meet technical, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Prepare and present reports on procurement activities.
• Document procurement files and perform contract administration.
• Support small business and socio-economic plan requirements.
• Handle higher complexity, risk, priority, and dollar value procurements.
