Job summary

Arizona Public Service Company seeks an experienced contracts professional to support procurement in contract development, negotiation and risk mitigation. You will draft, review and negotiate master and supplier agreements, NDA and addenda, under the guidance of Company Law.

The role emphasizes reducing legal and operational risk while maximizing value for APS. Hybrid work arrangement with training materials development and education for procurement staff on contracting practices and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Business, Contract Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Law or related field.
• Five years of paralegal, legal and/or contract administration experience.
• In lieu of a degree, nine years of related experience or coursework.
• Proficiency in contracts, terms and conditions development and negotiations.
• Working knowledge of category management and supply chain processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• PC literate in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, negotiate, award and manage contracts and subcontracts with procurement staff.
• Administer contract documentation process and review supplier redline responses.
• Summarize significant contracting exceptions and obtain attorney approvals when needed.
• Develop terms and conditions balancing business and supplier needs; ensure documentation compliance.
• Design contracting approaches aligned with strategies and value objectives.
• Perform post-contract audits to ensure policy/regulatory compliance.
• Analyze historical performance to update contract templates as needed.
• Enter contract data into the system and create training materials for managers.
