Job summary

Opportunity Partners, Inc. seeks an experienced Business Process Analyst contractor to facilitate discovery sessions and produce AS-IS process documentation across HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and Time & Attendance.

You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to map current-state processes, identify handoffs and dependencies, and deliver a standardized documentation package to guide future improvements, systems, or automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven, hands-on experience documenting business processes within HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Finance.
• Strong Time & Attendance / Time Entry knowledge.
• Experience facilitating workshops or interviews with business stakeholders.
• Skilled in process mapping with Visio, Lucidchart, BPMN, swimlane diagrams.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
• Able to manage multiple process areas independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and facilitate AS-IS process discovery workshops and interviews with stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Finance, and Time Entry teams.
• Document current-state process flows, including process maps/flowcharts, swim lane diagrams, RACI matrices, and supporting narrative descriptions.
• Identify and document system touchpoints, manual workarounds, data handoffs, approval steps, and exceptions within existing processes.
• Validate documented processes with stakeholders to confirm accuracy and completeness before finalizing.
• Organize documentation into a consistent, reusable format/template that can be maintained by the business after the engagement ends.
• Highlight process gaps, redundancies, risks, or inefficiencies observed during discovery (without necessarily redesigning the process).
• Coordinate across multiple business units to ensure end-to-end process visibility, particularly where processes cross departmental boundaries.
• Maintain a repository/tracker of process documentation status, open questions, and stakeholder sign-offs.
• Present findings and documentation summaries to project sponsors and leadership as needed.
