Position Overview: This position is an integral role supporting the recruiting function, and contributes to the overall success of the team by providing a high level of customer service, administrative support and project coordination throughout the recruitment process. This role will help our company find and retain excellent employees. The Specialist supports staffing on-site at the company's locations with the responsibility for timely and accurate daily production of interview coordination for candidates, and pre-employment transactions processing for new hires.
This position will require an understanding of the core business, benefits, relocation policy, government regulation compliance, company policy administration and other related activities in support of recruiting and staffing.
Note: This is a temporary/contract role with an estimated duration of several months. Timeline may be extended or shortened based on project needs.
The position is expected to work on-site 5 days a week, located at our office in Somerset, NJ and will report to the Chief Transformation Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Partners with hiring manager to determine staffing needs.
- Screens resumes, interviews candidate (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background verification, makes recommendations for hire (or not to hire) and delivers employment offers for both exempt and non-exempt position openings.
- Serves as an expert for recruiting candidates.
- Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events etc. to identify and attract quality candidates.
- Develops advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
- Manages internal transfer process, (internal job posting program) including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters etc.
- Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruitment process.
- Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals.
- Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g. benefits, compensation, non-compete agreements).
- Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
Other Important Responsibilities
- Develops recruitment strategies to achieve required staffing levels.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with college, university, community college and technical school placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants.
- Directs the efforts of employment agencies and search firms, including negotiating and controlling employment related fees.
- Develops and conducts training program for managers with a goal of improving recruiting and hiring efficiencies and reducing turnover.
- May research, analyze, prepare and present hiring and statistics.
- Maintains records on recruiting activities as required.
- Participates in development of annual recruiting budget.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years (or more) of recruiting experience, full cycle recruiting, sourcing and employment branding.
- Proven experience as a talent acquisition specialist.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources or relevant field.
- Working knowledge of applicant tracking system.
- Proficient in the use of social media and job boards.
- Understanding of all selection methods and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in written format.
- Attention to Detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrent with ease and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job.
- Must be able to sustain office work, this is a largely sedentary role, however some filing is required, this would require the ability to lift files, open file cabinets and bend to file as needed.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to type, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.

- Office environment is of moderate noise level.
