Job summary

Zurich NA is seeking a Contract Surety Underwriter for the West region. This market-facing role will manage large accounts across 13 Western States, with up to 20% travel. You will grow and manage a portfolio, build top-tier broker relationships, and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.

The role can be filled at Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level based on experience. Candidates should have underwriting or related experience, with Zurich Apprentice credentials or a

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting, banking, mortgage, finance, or market facing area.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ years in underwriting or market facing area, or 4+ years in claims/underwriting support.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

• Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business for large contract surety.
• Navigate complex assignments with confidence and autonomy.
• Build and maintain strategic broker and agency relationships.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
