Zurich NA in the West region seeks a Contract Surety Underwriter to strengthen our portfolio and deepen broker relationships across the 13 Western States.

This market-facing role requires technical surety underwriting for large contract accounts, with up to 20% travel and hybrid work options in AZ and surrounding states. The position offers growth within Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter levels.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting and analyzing new and renewal business for large contract surety.
• Navigating complex assignments with confidence and autonomy.
• Building and maintaining strategic broker and agency relationships.
• Ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Underwriting Specialist)

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Underwriting Specialist) – 6+ years (Claims/Underwriting Support)

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice – Associate Degree

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years (Underwriting/Market Facing)

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice – Associate Degree and 3+ years (Underwriting/Market Facing)
