Job summary

Soliant Health is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for grades 3–5 at an intermediate school near Nantucket, MA. This full-time contract runs from August 31 through June 23, offering collaboration with general and special education staff to support diverse learners.

You will implement IEP-driven instruction and evidence-based literacy strategies, with emphasis on reading and writing. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active certification as a Special Education Teacher for grades 3-5.
• Experience in a school-based special education setting.
• Knowledge of IEPs, adapted instruction, and differentiated learning.
• Orton-Gillingham training (preferred, not required).
• Commitment to evidence-based literacy and intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Team-oriented with collaboration with general education staff, support professionals, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted and small group instruction for students with diverse learning needs, focusing on academic, behavioral, and social development.
• Adapt curriculum and modify lessons to address IEP goals and objectives.
• Implement specialized instructional techniques, particularly for reading and writing.
• Collaborate closely with grade-level teams, parents, and support staff to tailor learning experiences.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to student progress, IEP compliance, and professional communication.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and parent conferences as required.
