Job summary

Brooks Automation in Chelmsford, MA is seeking a Production Buyer on a contract basis to coordinate purchasing activities with production control, operations, and engineering, ensuring on-time delivery and cost efficiency. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant purchasing experience.
• Experience in purchasing, scheduling, MRP, inventory management, and supplier relations.
• Experience with mechanical components suppliers locally and overseas.
• Proficiency in MS Excel; Oracle EBS and/or Oracle Cloud preferred.
• Lean/Kanban knowledge; CPIM/CPP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day inventory planning for assigned products.
• Process Oracle MRP output and Planned Orders to support demand.
• Track shortages and expedite materials daily.
• Reschedule and expeditie production and service material POs to meet delivery goals.
• Follow up on POs and quotes; place orders for selected commodities.
• Monitor supplier on-time delivery and quality; supplier visits as needed.
• Communicate supplier performance and resolve delivery issues.
• Handle consignment inventory management at vendor locations.
