Brooks Automation US LLC in Chelmsford, MA is seeking a Production Buyer for a contract role to coordinate purchasing with production control, operations, and engineering to secure inventory cost-effectively and timely.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of purchasing experience, with ERP/Oracle proficiency and lean/Kanban knowledge. You will monitor supplier performance and drive on-time delivery, while optimizing costs across commodities within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of purchasing experience.
Experience in purchasing, scheduling, MRP, inventory, risk management and supplier relationship management.
Experience with mechanical components suppliers locally and overseas.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel pivot tables preferred.
Oracle EBS and/or Oracle Cloud experience.
Lean principles and Kanban knowledge.
APIC CPIM and CPP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day inventory planning for assigned products.
Process Oracle MRP output and Planned Orders to support demand.
Track work order shortages and expedite materials daily.
Reschedule and expedite production and service material POs to meet delivery goals.
Follow up on POs and quotes; prepare price comparisons.
Place POs for assigned commodities and suppliers.
Experience with consignment inventory management at vendor locations.
Coordinate supplier date changes and resolve on-time delivery issues.
Assist disposition of non-conforming materials from assigned commodities.
Communicate supplier performance, including on-time delivery and quality.
