Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking a seasoned Cost Accountant in Chelmsford, MA to support cost analysis, inventory valuation, and close processes. You will partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance to drive data-driven decisions.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing accounting, strong Excel, ERP experience (Oracle Fusion), and the ability to present insights to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to present financial analysis to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to cost accounting and inventory.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and reconciliations.
• Reconcile inventory, manufacturing, and financial accounting transactions.
• Analyze inventory aging, inventory turns, shrink, scrap, MRB inventory, and in-transit balances.
• Analyze work order variances to standard cost, investigate material usage, labor efficiency, routing, and overhead absorption variances.
• Support controls, SOX compliance, and internal audit readiness.
