Job summary

Accounting Search in Reston, VA is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role with potential to become permanent. The position requires blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to laboratory procedures in a fast-paced environment.

You will work Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm with one Saturday per month and must have pediatric experience. Benefits available; duration approximately 3 months with possible extension.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures and ensures proper labeling.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete annual trainings.
• Answer inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
